"Chili" Weather | #CrockinWednesdays
Whether you'll be cheering on your team from the deep south or from way up north this weekend, chances are you might encounter some "chili" weather.
Here's a look at one of my favorite chili dishes, made a little lighter with ground turkey instead of beef. This particular recipe has a bit of a Tex-Mex flair with the addition of corn, bell peppers, and black beans along with the normal seasonings and tomatoes. The ability to brown your meat with onions, garlic, and chili seasoning ahead of time makes it perfect tailgate-friendly treat. Once you get to your spot, all you have to do is throw in your browned turkey mixture, add a can of beer I know you'll have on hand, and toss in the hearty additions mentioned before.
This dish is cooked on low for six hours so it's perfect for night games! My favorite part is the optional mix-ins; you can have shredded cheese, chopped red onion, and sliced fresh jalapeños for your guests to make their bowl just the way they like it. There will be plenty to go around and keep all your guests warm and full all day long! Check out the recipe here, Happy Crockin'!
